People say that you're going the wrong way when its simply a way of your own...

Once you figure out who you are and what you love about yourself, I think it all kinda falls into place...
And then you stop expecting for the unexpected!

I always think, There must be thousands of girls sitting alone like me, dreaming of becoming famous and successful. But I'm not going to worry about them.
Im dreaming the hardest!

When you least expect it!

Sometimes when you least expect…things happen. And in the right way too! Often we fret about little things in life we always wished we had. Like a Big car, a spacious house, etc…etc but most importantly; a happy life! I wonder about the things that make me happy and bring a smile on my face. And the answer I get is the element of surprise in my simple, monotonous life. For example, the other day, I finished work late evening and I crossed the street to hail a cab back home… I knew something was not going right today! I had a terrible shoe bite from the pretty ballerina shoes I picked up that weekend and I had to rush back home to complete a very important documentation report. And of course, I wasn’t getting a cab! So I decided to wait for a bus. Now days, work stresses one out so much that the patience level starts deteriorating! I had no option but to walk… Those shoes really hurt and my ankles couldn’t take the pain! “But this is life!” I thought, cursing every moment of my existence and carrying the burden of work on my right shoulder. My instinct had warned me I would have a bad day today and there I was breathing hard to reach my destination-Home! I wanted to collapse on my soft leather couch and soak my sore feet in warm salt water! The thought motivated me to move faster as I dragged my aching body forward.

Now this is why I say …” When you least expect it!” To my surprise, a car passing by stopped and the driver rolled down his window! “Are you heading back home? Want a lift?” the person asked. My lifeless body jumped up in excitement and before I even thanked the person, I was seated in an air-conditioned Honda city and Thanking God for saving my Life! Yes… I’m not exaggerating. Sometimes we are in a situation (silly, insignificant, stupid) when we feel we can never survive from and once we do, we think of Him…God! So, ya…it was That moment for me! A moment of sheer gratitude! Oh I forgot to mention… I did not hop into a stranger’s car. It was an uncle who stays very close to my house! So I was safe…It’s just that moment I wanted to share with you... The moment when you feel…”Oh! I didn’t expect this”!

A few of us feel; life unfolds as we plan it! Systematically! The perfect career, a great pay package, marriage, kids etc. When I was studying in college, I had no idea what I would be 5 years from now. I was, like most youth, a confused individual! I knew I had to head somewhere…so when I least expected it I was offered a Job. And the fascinating part is, it was something I always thought I would want to do! So now you will ask me, “This did not happen when you least expected it!” And I reply… Yes it did. Often, aspirations and dreams influence our thoughts so much that we start expecting the unexpected! We tend to build on something which is just in the air and finally end up giving up hope! So the right way to do this is-aspire, dream and try to focus on what is possible to make it happen! But don’t expect anything in return! So when you get something which you always wished for you might just get it when you least expect it!

This is a story I heard a few months back and my “when you least expect it!” calculation just proved itself to be right!

Susan followed her ‘Things to do’ diary every single day of her life so that she lived each moment, the way she had planned. Her friends tried hard to get her out of the calculative lifestyle! But this suited her just fine. But her perfectly planned job, super clean apartment and handsome pay package at the end of each year wasn’t enough to complete her life. It lacked contentment! So on her 30th birthday, Susan decided to get on with her life. She added a list of ‘things to do this month’ in her diary.

One of them was… getting married! Susan’s friends laughed hard and explained to her that her target- time to find someone to marry wasn’t sufficient. It required a lot of thinking and most importantly… a compatible person whom she would want to spend the rest of her life with. Susan believed that her book had never deceived her and she will definitely achieve her goal by the end of the month. So the hunt for Mr. Right began! Susan had dated interesting men before. But their characteristics did not match with her ‘expectations’ notes! She tried to place her ‘Mr. Right’ figure in every man she knew. It was the end of the third week and Susan had no luck yet. She sat on her bed one night and prayed hard! She wished for that special person to enter her life! That night Susan slept soundly. The next morning she woke up fresh and was 20 minutes late for work. Her colleagues stared in disbelief. Susan felt light in the head that day. She called her friends and told them that she was a new person now. She Thanked God for showing her the right way to live her moments… she was free from all kinds of annotations, comments, notes and interpretations!

Mike, A close friend and colleague, saw this change in Susan. One day he went up to her and asked her if she was alright. Susan smiled told him that this is what she actually is and will remain this way. Mike smiled back and noticed something, he complimented” You look much younger now!” Susan punched him on the shoulder and they both went back to work.

It was a quiet, chilly December night and Susan and Mike packed up to go home. Mike checked his watch and realized he will have to eat out alone. So he asked Susan if she would like to join him. Susan hesitated a little and then decided- “No book rules! It doesn’t matter anyway… It’s Just Mike! “

She agreed. They went to a quiet restaurant where they played soft music. It was just the 2 of them in the restaurant. The waiters were at their service. Wine, pasta, scented candles and loads and loads of topics to discuss. They sat there for hours chatting. It was wonderful. Mike dropped her home and she thanked him for the dinner. They looked at each other for a moment and Mike left. Susan opened her apartment door and hurried into her bedroom. Something was bothering her…she opened her cupboard and saw the diary! She turned to the last few pages… it read!

“Mr Right: - A perfect gentleman…”

An idea of a perfect date with Mr. Right: - ‘Just the two of us for a quiet dinner at an elegant restaurant accompanied with wine, scented candles and Italian food and loads to talk about!’

Susan looked up. Beside her bed lay a calendar which showed the date that day, circled and marked in red- Mr. Right found!

And she had her answer ready… Sometimes when you least expect…things happen. And in the right way too!

The unforgettable landscape!

"Let go your heart
Let go your head
And feel it now
Let go your heart
Let go your head
And feel it now

Many ways in which I’ve grown
Moving closer on my own … "

As the pure drops of rain soaked the face,

The eyes shut with a smile of bliss,

The whiff of earth, a thirsty terrain,

Inside were feelings with no boundaries, no pain…

The eyes opened to a view crystal clear,

A landscape unforgettable, of a village that seemed so dear.

The scorching sun blazed the seasoned leaf tips,

Until the yellows turned green!

The cheerful winds lashed against the sea,

While the waves reciprocated…

The eyes opened to a view crystal clear,

A landscape unforgettable, of a village that seemed so dear.

The sapphire skies, the golden pastel twilights,

The emerald-marine to the tan over the peaks.

These untouched scapes promised a hopeful heart,

A rejuvenated feeling,

To assemble the memories fallen apart…

The eyes opened to a view crystal clear,

A landscape unforgettable, of a village that seemed so dear.

Here dwelled humans with real human hearts,

That only loved and cared and blessed unscarred…

Humans that led a life so simple,

They carried a smile from a crawl to a wrinkle.

Then travelled a path thro’ the countryside,

Where the mountains sailed forever,

And the birds at sea seemed so near…

The eyes opened to a view crystal clear,

A landscape unforgettable, of a village that seemed so dear.

Suddenly a cloudy vision unsettled in the eyes,

Unwrapping the memoirs of what went behind…

At that, the peaceful sea stared back and whispered,

“These memories will stay forever..n ever… undisturbed!”

“They will carry moments of joy and grief,

To give thy strength to follow your dreams…”

Moist eyes shut to inhale this blessing,

And thanked the sea and his tranquility to listen.

After that the silent waters went by…

Then the eyes opened to a view crystal clear…

A landscape unforgettable, of a person so dear.
